Taken aboard HMNZS Southland at the Port of Tauranga, August 1991. This view shows the Wasp from the nose - and the port side of the hanger. Its clearly a tight fit, with little space between the ceiling and the flotation gear/ rearward folded rotors atop the aircraft. I was amazed at how much equipment was packed into the hanger area. Apparently a complete engine change can be achieved in this space in less than eight hours.
