Curtis P40K-5-CU Kittyhawk

ZK-PXL / 42-9733 (as NZ3108)

Taken at Auckland International Airport, November, 1992. My first look at a complete Kittyhawk - and very nice it was too. It didn't have the same visual impact as the F4U-1, but its still a very nice aircraft. I had thought of P40's as 'common' aircraft, and was surprised to find what a select club of survivors this airworthy model belongs too. The large aircraft in the background is an IL76 'Candid'.
