Taken at Tauranga Airport, 23 March, 2002. The Alpine Fighter Collection's chief engineer, Ray Mulqueen, is interviewed by Peter Harris from TV3 about the ordeal of getting the aircraft to New Zealand. Ray had to fly to the States to expedite shipment when the aircraft was stranded in the post 9:11 hysteria because it was deemed surplus war material, and therefore not eligible for export. (I don't know whether to be honoured or upset - this photo was credited in the post-show book "Warbirds over Wanaka 2002: the official record of the show" to well known 'Ghosts' photographer Phil Makanna).
