Oxford Parts

Taken at Taranaki Aviation, Transport, and Technology Museum, March 1997. The Oxford went missing in October 1942, while on towed-target duty. The aircraft apparently vanished into heavy cloud mid-morning while thought to be off the Taranaki coast. The remains were discovered in January, 1974 in the heavily forested Poukai ranges, some distance from where the aircraft was thought to have been lost. A number of parts have been recovered from the wreck, and are displayed in the Museum.
