Taken at Hamilton April 1, 2001. A rather distant shot (as seen from the control tower) but it does tell a story. Pilot Sir Kenneth Hayr was doing two displays at the Taupo show - the first was in his Yak-52 (seen at right) after which he proceeded to fly north to Hamilton to collect the Hunter for his second display. The Taupo runway was too short for the Hunter. Note the compressed air cylinder under the aircraft - a unique solution to replacing the old AVPIN starter.
