Taken at the Museum of Transport and Technology, 1991. One of several Mosquito projects in New Zealand - this fuselage currently resides at MOTAT while the wings are being rebuilt with RNZAF assistance. This aircraft began life as an Australian built FB.40 (A52-19) before being converted to a T-43 armed trainer (A52-1053) in 1946 and sold to the RNZAF in 1947.
This is as close as I've got a Mosquito, although there are several others in New Zealand - one is in private hands at Mapua (FB.6 TE910/NZ2336) and Glyn Powell is engaged in producing a 'new' NZ2308 using some original components.
