Halls of Remembrance

Taken at Auckland War Memorial Museum. 1 March, 1997. The museum building is also a War Memorial. This view is on the third level, in the Hall of Remembrance. A striking feature of the halls are the stained glass windows which break up the lines of marble panels containing the names of the dead. New Zealand's loss of servicemen as a pecentage of the population was second only to the Soviet Union.
