Taken at RNZAF Base Whenuapai, April 1, 2000. Standard operating procedure is for the Orions to be washed down at the end of each mission - the low level maritime environment being somewhat corrosive. I've wanted to get a picture of an aircraft in the 'birdbath' for a long time - this was my second attempt, as the aircraft emerges.
